Kids Files was born from a collection of materials I used in my own classroom and later as a mom teaching at home. Every sheet, clip card, and video is made with care, imagining a child somewhere discovering how numbers work.

My hope is that these materials save you time, support your teaching, and bring joy to your learners. Whether you’re preparing lesson plans, homeschooling, or giving your child enrichment practice, Kids Files aims to be a safe, simple, and helpful place where learning resources are accessible and meaningful.

If you’re looking for printable, ready-to-use math worksheets, themed hands-on activities, or helpful number learning videos, you’ll find everything you need right here.

Let’s make math fun, engaging, and achievable, one file at a time 🗂️.

As you browse through the materials, I hope you feel the same excitement I had while creating them. Everything here is designed with two things in mind, to build skills and create joy. These files progress from the most basic early math skills to more advanced concepts, making it easier for you to guide your learners at the pace that fits them best.

🗂️ Shapes (Basic Level)

Before children begin working with numbers, shapes help build early visual and spatial awareness. Our shape worksheets introduce:

  • Circles, squares, triangles, rectangles
  • Identifying and matching shapes
  • Sorting shapes
  • Tracing and coloring shapes

Shapes build recognition skills and prepare learners for patterns, number formation, and geometry later on.

🗂️ Number Recognition

This is where Math truly begins. Children learn to identify numbers, match numbers to objects, and visually recognize numerals.

Great for visual and kinesthetic learners who need to touch, see, and count.

🗂️ Counting Objects

Counting real objects is a key skill for understanding what numbers represent. These worksheets include:

  • Counting themed objects (apples, cars, basketballs, etc.)
  • Circle the correct number activities
  • Count and match
  • Hands-on clip cards (available on TPT)

Clip cards are perfect for centers, small groups, or at home practice. They support fine motor skills and number recognition simultaneously.

🍎 Themed Count & Clip Cards (TPT Products)

For hands-on learners, Kids Files offers themed clip cards such as:

  • Apples
  • Cars
  • Basketballs

🗂️ Number Names

Number names can be tricky for early learners, especially when spelling becomes part of the challenge.

This section includes:

  • Number names 1–10
  • Matching numbers to number words
  • Tracing and writing number names
  • Video support from our Kids Files YouTube channel (Number Names 1–10)

Pairing videos + worksheets helps reinforce learning through multiple senses.

🗂️ Number Order

Once children recognize numbers, they can begin to understand number patterns and sequencing. These worksheets cover:

  • Ordering numbers 1–10
  • Fill in the missing number
  • Ordering numbers 1–20
  • Smallest to biggest number activities

These build confidence and prepare students for addition, subtraction, and place value.

🗂️ Numbers Before & After

Understanding what comes before and after a number helps children develop number sense.

These worksheets include:

  • Write the number before
  • Write the number after
  • Number neighbors

🗂️ Comparing Sizes

Size comparison supports early classification and logic skills. This is useful for preschool and kindergarten building observation skills.

Kids Files worksheets include:

  • Big vs. small
  • Bigger, biggest
  • Size sorting
  • Compare and circle

🗂️ Place Value (Tens & Ones)

As students grow in number knowledge, place value becomes essential. Place value is the foundation for addition, subtraction, and number operations.

These worksheets help learners:

  • Identify tens and ones
  • Build numbers using blocks
  • Match numbers to place value models

🗂️ Skip Counting

Skip counting introduces patterns and prepares children for multiplication. These worksheets strengthen pattern recognition, support math fluency, and make future multiplication lessons smoother.
